2007 Kurrajong Scarecrow Festival
The 2007 Kurrajong Scarecrow Festival was held on 27th - 28th October in the Hawkesbury area of NSW, Australia. On Saturday 27th, scarecrows were dotted around the district in front gardens and a musical talent quest was held in Memorial Park, Kurrajong. Then on Sunday 28th October, crowds gathered in Memorial Park to see scarecrow displays and stalls, and enjoy music and dance performances

Greg, Geordie and Luke McKeown-Todd with their spectacular dinosaur scarecrow, 'Tyranno-straw-us Rex', that delighted the crowds at the 2007 Kurrajong Scarecrow Festival. This scarecrow took out the Margaret Garcia Trophy for the Overall Winner of the Festival and first place in the People's Choice competition.

The main Kurrajong Scarecrow Festival day on the Sunday featured a packed program of performances by local schools and dance groups, along with the Spectacle of Scarecrows, market stalls, a blacksmith display, a reptile show, children's activities and much more!
A large Scare-Crow stood tall beside the WIRES (Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service) stand .
Beautiful scarecrow 'Flo' reminded visitors to the Country Womens Association stand that the CWA is 'not all tea and scones!'

Colo Wilderness Mobile Resource Unit Inc. (left) hosted another extremely popular and well organised scarecrow-making activity for the children with colourful pre-cut materials.

And the Kurrajong-Comleroy Historical Society presented a fascinating display of historic photographs called 'War and Peace in The Kurrajong'.

The scarecrows built by the children of Kurrajong Public School won the Best School category and the scarecrow display by Year 1 Kurrajong Public School (left) won the Special Projects category.
